El Peñiscal Vineyard

Finca El Peñiscal captivated us! Nestled at the foot of a pine forest, surrounded by wildlife and in the heart of the Iberian Mountain Range, we discovered this remarkable vineyard. We had explored countless paths and visited many vineyards, but its soil, its altitude, its age… there was no doubt that this was where it all had to begin.

From that moment on, it became our dream. We were fascinated by its history and its past, and we loved meeting and learning from those who had cared for and cultivated it before us: the Sicilia family.

The Sicilia Family

Two of the seven Sicilia siblings inherited this vineyard. Conrado, one of them, sold us a little piece of his heart. Without him, getting started would not have been so easy. We shared our enthusiasm with him, and he taught us how to prune and gather vine shoots, remove unwanted shoots, work with joy, and appreciate everything this land has to offer.

Intense, Wild & Unique

Situated at more than one thousand metres above sea level, the vineyard stretches across a terrain of pure grey slate, rugged and noble. A soil that forces the vine to struggle, to drive its roots deep in search of life.

Here, the climate is extreme and full of contrasts: sunny days and cold nights. Among deer, roe deer, wild boars and partridges, nature continues to set the pace, and we must follow it.

Blackberries, almonds, mushrooms and paths adorn the surroundings of the old vines, while the scent of thyme seasons the air.

More Than a Vineyard

El Peñiscal will always be

This is where Sira and Marcos grew up, where they played their first games, experienced their first family harvests, and spent days laughing among the vines…

Here, we learned to listen to the vineyard, to work together, to harvest grapes with school scissors, and to understand and cultivate the land.
